Love how this is broken down (Pregnancy without Pounds)
So how exactly do you make goals that stick? The first step is to work through the 5 Stages of Goal Setting:

1. Awareness: I am aware that I need to change

2. Cognition: I know how to change

3. Emotion: I want to change

4. Decision: I have decided to change

5. Action: I am changing

I think going with the 1 to 6 numbers follows my eating plan better, I've been eating every 2 to 3 hours the last couple of days so it looks weird to be having 2 snacks after what one might consider lunch.

I've been all over the fertility friend message boards and I've gotten some great response re: my BBT chart, things are looking good so far but I'm still waiting till Tuesday/Wednesday to test. Hopefully I can keep myself busy this weekend while my husband is down at the boat show setting up. I know I can do it!!! I have to do it I don't want to get a false + or - because I didn't wait long enough. grrrr

Thursday, January 3

got on the scale this morning and it said 216. I'm waiting to see if we where successful at TTC this month so I try to take the scale with a grain of salt (of course seeing 218 got my ass moving) but with women I guess I figure the scale is going to move around with our cycles and such. maybe its just an excuse I keep tell myself though.

snack: 2 hard boiled egg, 8 shrimp + sauce
lunch: last nights left overs
snack: veggies and dip + kiwi
dinner: swiss chalet 1/4 chicken w/fries

Wednesday, January 2

for Christmas my husband gave me beautiful ring, one that I wanted when we had our first child. as we are still in the 2 week wait period to see if Santa left us with the most precious gift of them all I'm trying to do what I've always said I would do, eat as though I was/am pregnant. New years eve I scarfed down the last of the cheeses I had bought, chocolate is all gone and more salads and veggies being prepared.

Last night I made the "waist" management soup. Want to try and stick to that eating plan to bring down the bloating, clean me out my system and get things moving again. ah yeas again, I have a bit of dislike for that word.

breakfast: ww toast, PB, s. milk
snack: strawberry yogurt
lunch: soup
snack: 3oz bbq steak
snack: 12 shrimp + 1 c. veggies w/dip
dinner: sausage and peppers with spaghetti
snack: -

water: 64 fl.oz.

Here I am again, little heavier and once again wanting to loose the weight. I keep wondering when it will finally click... but I think slowly but surely I'm getting it.... the idea that I can't jump on the bandwagon for a few weeks and then resort to eating poorly or let my workouts fall off track, I need to just put my nose to the ground keep at it and not expect anything other then feeling better and know in my heart that the weigh loss will follow.

today TOM is here and the scale this morning read 209!!!! 209!!!! but when I was on it on Tuesday it was only 206 as I listed in week 1.

biggest thing at this point is really and truly starting to act/think/pretend I am pregnant! I want to become pregnant and now I need to really get my mind around that so I'm being better to myself so I can be better able to enjoy growing/carrying a healthy baby for 9 months.

20 pounds in 10 weeks...... this is the challenge my personal trainer has set out for me. Week one done, pounds lost n/a as it's "that time of the month" who can really say for sure... I'm staying away from the scale for now.

Biggest changes I've made since last posting:

  • We have a pup now and he gets me out for a nightly 20-30 minute walk everyday! Big bonus!
  • I eat breafast every morning, granted it's usually the same thing and my pt would like me to ad some variety, it is a huge leap considering that for years I have not been eating breakfast period
  • having a personal trainer. very lucky! met Nancy at a tradeshow I was shooting and through some conversation we have worked out an agreement that suits us both, and we both benefit from one and others expertise!
  • down so far 12/13lbs, petering on 196.something (again that time of the month). realizing I could have made more gains or rather losses in that last 2 months but I'm not beating myself up about it, still made progress and now it's time to get a little more serious.
  • Journally/recording my food and sending it to Nancy (pt) this is big cause I know someone is going to review what I have eaten! oh dear! the embarrasement if I don't stay on track!

Day 3

Oh so typical of the ugly cycle I seem to spin in and out of frequently!!

So here I am and I haven't posted in a month and I am proud to tell you I'm on day 3 of a different eating plan. I will tell anyone I'm the queen bee when it comes to my dvd workout collection and collection of books. Well maybe not Queen bee but more then some I'm sure. So what am I giving a try this time?................. You: On a diet, Waist Management...... that's WAIST not weight. I don't know exactly what it is but the things I've read so far and the eating etc just seem to click, kinda like things are falling into place. I know what I'm suppose to do and eat but this time its making more senses to me then any other time over the last couple of years.

So like I said today is Day 3 of 14. I'm walking 30 minutes a day and eating as outlined. I made the garden veggie soup and cucumber salad and was totally blown away by how good they actually are. Also made the Mediterranean chicken with w. kidney beans Tuesday night and eat the second serving last night for dinner.

Some info http://www.realage.com/doctorCenter/Articles.aspx?aid=10447

So here's the breakdown

- suggestion is to eat the same thing for breakfast and lunch to minimize your food choices. It's proven that people who do this loose more weight
- adds up to about 1300 to 1500 calories a day and I haven't felt famished or overly hungry

Breakfast: whole wheat toast with 1 tbsp of PB + tea w/s.milk
Snack 1: piece of fruit or probiotic yogurt options
Lunch: Garden Veggie soup + cucumber salad
Snack 2: probiotic yogurt w/ a fist full of raisins or mandarin/tangerine orange
Dinner: list of options including recipes
Dessert: recipes provided but I'm going with the 1 oz. of dark (70% + cocoa) chocolate
Snack 3: optional and same as snack 2 options

So far so good. Tonight I'm making Royal Provence Pasta! The recipes are simple and straight forward. Had to buy a few new things but have yet to come across some ingredient that I haven't heard of or couldn't find at the regular grocery store. so that's a definite bonus.
